Ease of Installation

A hollow shaft encoder is easy to install and design-in because it couples directly to the input shaft. The need for an external mounting bracket or external shaft coupling is thereby reduced. Shaft diameters of up to 15mm are accepted.

Revolution Counting

Unique to the POSITAL line of OPTOCODE absolute rotary encoders is the ability for multi-turn sensing with a full thru-hollow shaft encoder. This is performed with reliable gearing built into the encoder, reducing the need for expensive external gearing.

Electrical Interfaces

The aforementioned thru-hollow shaft encoders can integrate directly into CANopen or Profibus networks; or via Synchronous Serial Interface (SSI) or Bit-Parallel interfaces. Blind-hollow / hub shaft encoders meanwhile are available for all interfaces in the OPTOCODE line.
